"WE MAKE FASHION FOR PEOPLE AND FOR THE PLANET."
The Brand
Dram Ive is a brand born in the North of Portugal, which meets the need to offer quality fashion accessories, produced in Portugal, in a sustainable way and with low environmental impact.
By collecting surplus fabrics from large industries, it is possible to reduce the amount of discarded and unused textile materials, reintroducing them into the value chain. We reuse textile surpluses to produce our products, transforming potential textile waste into exclusive and differentiated products.
Our production is proprietary, standing out for its exclusive nature, given that each production is dependent on surpluses from other producing companies, creating products on a limited scale. All items are made in slow production, with great care, affection and qualified labor.
Our products are designed for people who appreciate differentiation, exclusivity and versatility. Their design and colors are defined in such a way that the products can be used for many years.
We are a young brand, very dreamy and we are sure that our customers dream about us.
Creator
"I only know myself in one way. I am an eternal enthusiast and passionate about the art of creation.
If you ask me how I got into the world of fashion, I don't know exactly how to answer. But I believe it's the fault of these two people next to me. My mother and Mrs. Prazeres, who was my nanny for a long time. Both seamstresses by profession.
If, on the one hand, my mother was the creative person who was constantly inventing new things, Mrs. Prazeres was the one who took apart and made the same piece, over and over, until it was perfect. She doesn't know, but many years ago she “lent me” the “Great Book of Sewing”. To this day I have never read it, but I will keep it with me forever for all the good memories it brings me.
Since I was little, I unconsciously tried to follow in their footsteps. I took fabrics, appropriated their things, detuned machines (…) without any idea about patterns or sewing, to be able to make clothes for myself. They gave me their taste and my curiosity for wanting to know more and more, meaning that today I can create your pieces in a completely independent way.
After completing my training in the field of fashion design and through all this proximity to the textile world over the years, I realized that there was still a lot of waste from large industries. Huge rolls of fabric that were left over, because they were remnants of collections or because they had small defects, were discarded.
Thoughts like "so many useful things could be done with these fabrics instead of going to waste" persisted until the creation of Dram Ive. Without any plan and just with my enormous desire to create, I launched the first basic, hand-painted tote bag. Far from imagining that 3 years later the range of products, their quality and the people who wanted them, was much greater.
My mission is and will always be to do and serve the Dram Ive community better. A community full of real people, who are looking for a humanized brand, limited, quality products, and with a differentiated design.
It is possible to create fashion in a sustainable and ethical way, without compromising on quality and differentiation."
